Compassionate Care Ministry
The Compassionate Care Ministry at St. Augustine’s Parish aims to address the increasing needs of our parish community. Many of our brothers and sisters in Christ experience loneliness, are homebound, ill, grieving, frail, or suffering in various ways.
Following the example of Jesus, we seek to bring the love of Christ in the form of companionship and support to those in need.
Our ministry serves in a variety of ways—through friendly phone calls, home visits, cards and letters, and by bringing the Eucharist to those who cannot attend Mass. Each act of care is a reminder that no one in our parish walks alone.
”Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.
1 Peter 4:10
Home Visits & Phone Ministry
Our volunteers reach out to parishioners who need regular companionship, offering a listening ear and a caring presence through home visits or friendly phone calls. Each volunteer brings their own unique gifts, life experience, and warm spirit to this ministry of connection and encouragement.
Card & Letter Writing Team
This dedicated team sends heartfelt cards for a variety of occasions: condolences to the families of deceased parishioners, congratulations for baptisms, marriages, RCIA milestones, First Communions, and Confirmations.
We also celebrate special birthdays and anniversaries, ensuring that parishioners know they are valued and remembered.
If you or someone you know is celebrating a milestone, please let us know so we can join in the celebration.
Eucharist At Home Ministry
For those unable to attend Mass, our trained volunteers bring the Eucharist to their homes. These pastoral visits provide time to listen, pray together, and share in the gift of the Body of Christ. This ministry is a profound reminder that every member of our parish is an important part of our worshipping community.
Mental Health Ministry
As prayerful companions, we serve those facing mental health challenges as well as their caregivers. We do this with compassion, support, education and spiritual accompaniment. We will work together to promote the reduction of mental illness stigma.
Getting Involved
Would you—or someone you know—benefit from any of these ministries?
Are you interested in serving as a volunteer and sharing Christ’s love in a tangible way?
We would be blessed to hear from you.
