The St. Augustine Refugee committee was initially formed to support the sponsorship of a refugee to Canada. We work closely with the Diocese of Hamilton’s Office for Refugees throughout the sponsorship process. As this process can take some time, the Committee has also expanded its scope to support people who are new to the parish/country. As our group is new to sponsoring a refugee, we have paired with the Sisters of St. Joseph to learn from and with them.
